Homework

Assignment/assigning

• Homework is written on the board in the morning. Students write down that night’s homework as soon as they walk in. As I teach each subject I explain the homework and then again at the end of the day.

Late policy

• Students stay at recess to complete any missing homework assignments

Missed assignments

• Students complete missed assignments the day they return. They are due the following day with that night’s homework.

Collecting Work

• Each student has a homework folder that they turn in each morning. I go through each to check that homework was completed and return each folder to go over. I don’t always go over everything. Just the important concepts

Special Events

Fire drills

• Students are to quickly and quietly line up at the back door going out of the building. No specific order is required. They are to walk silently to our designated area and remain silent until we return to the room.

• Have a copy of your roll readily accessible to take with you and make sure all your students are accounted for.

Other Drills

• Follow procedures given by school.

Intercom/phone

• When someone comes over the intercom students are to be silent.

Room visitors

• Students are to be respectful to all visitors including other students.
